Since Apple debuted its “there’s an app for that slogan” in 2009, a community of millions of app developers has proven the tech giant right. With countless apps available for download and an application to solve almost any problem.
Amongst the available downloads is an array of photography apps that help people turn their smartphone photos into professional looking masterpieces. We asked Jade Sahota, head of design of app development agency, Degree 53, to share four of her favourites:
Pixlr
Pixlr for iPhone is a free download with over 2 million combinations of effects, overlays and frames. It lets you take a photo on your phone and make edits to lighting, add frames, annotate with text and save or share to social profiles.
You can also use it to create photo canvases.
Prisma
Prisma is amongst the newer apps on the App Store, enabling users to turn photographs into works of art. With a huge range of different styles you can use, it takes a single tap to turn a photo into an image that looks like an impressionist l painting.
Fotor
Filter and editing apps don’t start and end with Instagram. An alternative packed full of features is Fotor. With hundreds of filters and effects, it’s easy to tweak your iPhone photos to make them look more professional on the move.
Nikon Learn and Explore
A slightly different angle – this next app isn’t for photo editing. Instead, this is an app that lets you turn your iPhone into a manual to get the most from your camera.
Nikon’s Learn and Explore App is packed full of articles, tips and guides for budding photographers. And who better to learn from than the manufacturers of some of the best selling cameras in the world!
